Description:

More planners are needed across Canada to address the complex challenges in our communities, yet planning itself is not a well-known field among children and youth, and many find out about the profession later in their careers. This World Town Planning Week, we invite you to explore how you can visit a local school and inspire the next generation of planners. Receive a presentation template and learn practical tips on how to share about your work with students of different ages in fun and accessible ways.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn how to incorporate age-appropriate strategies, activities, and accessible language during your classroom visits.
  2. Learn how to share about your career journey through storytelling, to inspire the next generation of planners and to help all students understand the importance of planning.
  3. Learn how to collaborate with educators and school board staff to explore future engagement opportunities.
